Description

T6.1. Develop Communication, dissemination and Exploitation Plan (lead: AMB)

T6.1 develops an integrated plan for the dissemination and exploitation of results, including communication activities.

The plan defines (i) the narrative and key messages; (ii) the main segments of interested parties and their needs (based onD2.2); (iii) tools, channels, techniques and social media strategy for engaging stakeholders at all communication touchpoints. The communication strategy focuses on increasing the community of end users and increasing commitment to the network; therefore, it will include a European strategy as well as a strategy for each member country. The plan also presents an initial exploitation strategy, listing the exploitable results and their expected exploitation pathways, as well as a plan that includes the best way to communicate and disseminate results to increase the thematic network community and encourage the use of the developed end-user materials. The plan will be developed during the first 4 months of the project and will be updated at regular intervals (M18, M24) to address gaps in stakeholder outreach and project developments.

T6.2. Implementation of Communication and Dissemination activities (lead: NAAS)

This task will deploy the Plan and manage value-creating relationships with and between key stakeholders through strategic proactive engagement. C&D activities will use the existing distribution channels of the consortium partners (e.g. newsletters, websites) as well as the channels of the engaged stakeholders. Wherever possible, materials are translated into all 9 languages of partner countries to encourage wider communication and dissemination and to avoid language barriers. The most important activities of this task are: (i) creating an image and website, (ii) producing, promoting high-quality and relevant content; (iii) facilitating online conversations on YouTube, social media and newsletters; (iv) coordination of thematic events for the Soil-X-Change community (co-organization of workshops and trainings, webinars/podcasts; (v) exploring press opportunities with industry; (vii) analysis of engagement metrics, recommendations for improvement and their feedback to T6.1. A key element of the communication strategy will be the publication of practice abstracts in the EIP-AGRI format, as well as knowledge materials such as innovation fact sheets, podcasts and audio-visual formats. See 2.2.3 for details.

T6.3 Development of dissemination, exploitation and communication material dedicated to farmers and practitioners (lead: DC)

The aim of this task is to translate ready-to-use best practices (identified and categorized in WP4) into an easy-tounderstand format, in view of C&D towards farmers and practitioners via Soil-X-Change dedicated dashboard on its website. This task will deliver materials as: EIP-AGRI Practice abstracts are written in the respective native language of the partners, translated into English and other languages upon request and uploaded on the EIP-AGRI website.

The consortium will publish 2 Scientific articles in international, open access journals. Audio-visual materials are an important and beneficial source of knowledge and learning. Best practices will also be translated into short videos explaining the methods and techniques used in an easy-to-understand way. The videos will be directly linked to the Best Practice Fact Sheets and EIP-AGRI Practice abstracts to provide a complete package of information for farmers and practitioners. Peer learning is a frequently used and accepted method in the farming community. Soil-X-Change documents and shares lessons learned and testimonies, which reinforce the credibility of experiences and promote acceptance and adoption. Best practices will also be disseminated in training formats to better reach farmers, young farmers, advisors and students. Other C&D&E materials for practitioners include leaflets, booklets and technical posters.

All these materials will be disseminated at national and international workshops, exhibitions and industry events.

T6.4. Sustainability strategy and Roadmap (lead: INM)

The aim of this task is to nurture and expand the Soil-X-Change ecosystem and to pave the way for the full implementation and sustainability of the key achievements. A sustainability strategy with a roadmap will be developed to explore and define a self-sustainability scheme, e.g. synergies with the EU funds sustainability strategy or the perspective of new themes or funding sources. A presence on social media, multiplier networks and direct contact with stakeholders will encourage stakeholders to join our network to receive updates on the project and stay up to date on Soil-X-Change and its activities. Our results and materials will also be integrated into the EIP AGRI website and several other synergistic project websites, initiatives and networks, as well as into the websites of the relevant project partner organisations.

Partners will liaise with previously funded related projects, as well as sister projects with the same call topic, to determine what knowledge can be built upon and to collaborate on communication and outreach efforts. The knowledge and network created by Soil-X-Change will be integrated into national CAP networks as well as national SOIL HUBs, so that the knowledge and knowledge system can be maintained.
