Second Slovakian National Node workshop of Soil-X-Change project - in collaboration with the Greet CE project

The second Slovakian NN workshop titled "Sustainable Solutions for Agriculture and Plant Nutrition" took place on February 24, 2025, as part of the Soil-X-Change project in collaboration with the Greet CE project. The event gathered experts, farmers, and industry representatives to explore key topics related to regenerative agriculture, sustainable soil practices, and the importance of plant nutrition. The workshop served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing innovative approaches aimed at improving soil health and promoting agricultural sustainability.

An overview of the Greet CE and Soil-X-Change projects was presented, highlighting objectives in fostering sustainable agricultural practices. Subsequent presentations included a session on biological soil preparation and an insightful talk regarding healthy soil within the carbon farming context. These discussions emphasized the integral role of soil health in both farming and climate resilience.

A key highlight of the day was the "Innovation Pitches", where various companies presented their sustainable farming solutions. This was followed by a matchmaking session designed to facilitate connections between farmers and companies offering advanced products and technologies. Participants had the opportunity to network, fostering informal discussions on sustainable practices in agriculture. An afternoon presentation on implementing agroforestry in Slovakia was concluded with a tour of the Living Lab, which focused on demonstrations of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry practices.

This workshop effectively brought together diverse stakeholders in the agricultural sector, promoting collaboration and the sharing of best practices to advance sustainable agriculture initiatives. We believe that the insights gained during the event are expected to influence future efforts in soil health and farm management practices.
