Strengthening Hungary’s Soil Mission participation

Strengthening Hungary’s Soil Mission participation

This year’s second HU Soil-X-Change National Node Meeting took place on February 25, 2026. The gathering’s goal was to help Hungarian stakehodlers get hands-on experience with developing and participating in Horizon Europe proposals for the EU Soil Mission calls.

Co‑organised by the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) and the Hungarian National Innovation Agency (NIÜ), the agenda focused on:

  • 2026–2027 Soil Mission funding opportunities and consortium building tips.
  • ‑by‑step use of the Funding & Tenders Portal + CORDIS for smarter proposal building.
  • Closer look into the requirements of a concrete Horizon living lab call.
  • Budget planning & cost eligibility to avoid common pitfalls.
  • Soil Living Lab case studies from Hungary and Europe to showcase governance, partner types, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring in action.

Huge thanks to all participants and speakers for this insightful knowledge exchange. We know that it's far from being simple to propose or get in a Horizon Europe project, but we truly believe that these two capacity‑building meetings have improved Hungarian stakeholders’ readiness to join Horizon-funded R&I initiatives on soil health!
